Polymer Clay Guitar Tuto by Eyranne Polymer Clay Guitar Tuto by Eyranne
Wow, it was so difficult to WRITE this tutorial!! I didn't have the vocabulary, but I did the best I could =(

I'm not a super-expert on this, but I've seen a lot of attempts and always the same mistake: trying to make the guitar with your bare hands. It's not impossible to do it perfectly in this way, but I think it's a LOT of times more difficult.

Also, I don't like how silver clay looks for the details, specially when you're making a silver guitar and you can't clearly differentiate the colors, like in the Stump-O-Matic.

So I hope someone finds it useful :la:

It's a Gibson SG Standard

Oh wow, I've been playing with clay for a while but most of the tutorials I find are for miniature foods, this looks like fun! And the metal parts was a great idea! =D Thanks for making it!

Is polymer clay expensive?

In the States it's extremely cheap. Here it's expensive as hell (they don't even sell it, I have to ask for it to a special company so..) it depends on your country

Nice touch with the metal parts. :D I've never used metal in my guitars. Maybe I'll give it a try! :tighthug:

Thanks! It's useful if you don't need a super realistic look in the pickups. Now I only use it for the frets

How long did you bake this? And at what temperature?

Oh, I don't remember! I always forget how much time this clay needs, so I check in the box! And as I don't have this anymore, I don't remember how thick it was... sorry :c
